CanTabX starts with learning, but its purpose is not limited to the next exam.
Students repeatedly face moments when the first plan does not work, the result is not what they expected or the problem is not what they first thought it was.
Learning gives students an early place to practise
Understand the problem before rushing to solve it.
Choose an approach when the answer is not obvious.
Look at the result instead of relying only on how something felt.
Change direction when the evidence says the first approach is not working.
Useful today in school, those habits of judgement and adjustment can remain valuable far beyond it.
CanTabX is not meant to make future decisions for students
Later in life the problems will be different: new environments, work, goals and choices that no study platform can solve for them.
The aim is smaller, and more useful: help students practise a way of approaching problems while they are still learning how they learn.
